58-year-old Chris Tanner, a popular Falls of Rough business owner, died Tuesday night at the University of Louisville Hospital. Tanner owned Tanner Automotive on Falls of Rough Road and also operated a towing service.
Tanner was struck by a 2003 Honda Civic on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 15. The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office says Tanner and two other individuals were trying to get a truck with a camper up an icy driveway in the 11000 block of Falls of Rough Road. Authorities say Tanner was standing in the southbound lane and had been waving a flashlight facing northbound and wearing a reflective safety vest. The striking driver stated he did not see Tanner, deputies say.
