MASSACHUSETTS STATE TROOPER STRUCK WHILE ON CONSTRUCTION DETAIL

A 38 year old Massachusetts State Police Sergeant was struck by a construction vehicle while he stood behind his cruiser at a construction detail. The Sergeant was wearing his traffic safety vest and facing towards traffic when a construction vehicle backed into him. He sustained serious injuries and was flown by medical evacuation helicopter from the scene, however his injuries are not life threatening. The operator of the construction vehicle was cited for failure to use care in backing.
