A man has been arrested after a police officer was hurt in an alleged hit and run incident in Aberdeen. The officer was said to have been struck by a car after he had stopped the vehicle. The incident happened in Riverside Drive at about 2110 GMT on Sunday and police had appealed for witnesses. A Grampian Police spokesman said that a 47-year-old male had been arrested and was expected to appear from custody at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday. Police appealed for the driver of a light-coloured car, possibly a taxi, who stopped to assist the injured officer to contact them.
