A Denver police officer was in the hospital Friday after being hit by a possible drunk driver. It happened at 22nd and Lawrence in Downtown Denver at about 2:00 a.m. Friday. The officer was outside of his patrol car escorting a prisoner at the time they were hit. Police on the scene said it’s possible alcohol played a role in this incident.
Investigators said the driver tried to leave the scene, but officers stopped that person. All three people went to Denver Health Medical Center. Their conditions were not released. The police officer was expected to be released from the hospital by midday Friday.
