HIT AND RUN SENDS SMITH COUNTY TEXAS TROOPER TO THE HOSPITAL

A hit and run early Saturday morning sends a trooper to the hospital. The accident happened off Interstate 20 near mile marker 5-59. Smith County DPS troopers tell us, Trooper Sean Waterman was finishing up a traffic stop, when he was suddenly hit by a passing truck.
The trooper was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. If you know anything about this hit-and-run, you're urged to call the Texas Department of Public Safety or police.
