A Knox County Sheriff's Deputy was the victim of a hit-and-run late Monday night on Asheville Highway. Officer Ernie Bowman was stopped at a red light on Ashville Highway at Straw Plains Pike at 11:00 pm when his car was rear-ended by a van.
The driver of the van then backed up and took off. Bowman received minor injuries and was treated and released from UT Medical Center. No description of the van has been released and no arrests have been made.
