Alleged DUI Driver Who Struck Trooper Sent to Prison

The woman who drove her car into a police vehicle on Route 1 in New Garden Township on Thursday afternoon is in Chester County Prison in lieu of $200,000 cash bail. Heather DeLong, 47, of Glen Mills admitted to police responders at the 12:57 p.m. crash that she was speeding and lost control of her 2004 Chrysler Pacifica before hitting the police cruiser that was parked in the median along the southbound lane. She also admitted to drinking wine earlier.
