A Mayfield Heights police officer this morning narrowly missed being hit by an SUV that crashed into the rear of his patrol car that was stopped on Interstate 271 near Mayfield Road. It was one of three accidents at the site within minutes due to icy and snowy conditions around 6:30 a.m.
