Michigan Law Enforcement

A Michigan State Police trooper escaped injury when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle on an icy stretch of southbound Interstate 75 about 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22. Lt. David Kaiser said the trooper was outside his patrol vehicle when a driver lost control and hit the back of the trooper's vehicle.

The accident happened at the 143 mile marker, south of the Bridgeport/Frankenmuth exit ramp, Kaiser said.

Central Dispatch reported the highway as being icy and Michigan Department of Transportation was notified.

The driver that struck the trooper's vehicle will receive a citation, Kaiser said.
