Utah: Police car hit in one of three I-80 crashes that close freeway, injure three

Westbound I-80 was closed at the mouth of Parleys Canyon as crews cleaned up the scene of a crash in Salt Lake City on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015. A Park City police officer arrived to the scene of a one-vehicle accident to help set up traffic control. A second vehicle tried to avoid the Park City police vehicle, swerved and hit a semitrailer. Another vehicle followed and hit the Park City police vehicle. The officer was not in the vehicle at the time. Three people were transported to area hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.
