A Springfield police officer was taken to the hospital after being hit by a pickup truck while working a construction detail Monday morning. Springfield Police Capt. Thomas Trites told 22News that the driver kept going after striking the officer near Orange and Ranney Streets around 11:00, but police caught-up and arrested him on Sumner Avenue.

A car crash is under investigation tonight after a tow truck driver was hit while at the scene of a rollover crash. The incident happened on highway 101 just north of the Gaviota Rest Area. Tow truck driver Richard Reeder, of Santa Ynez, was removing the overturned car from the roadway when he was struck.

Police Say Stolen Car Hits Maryland State Trooper in College Park
A Maryland state trooper has been injured after being struck in College Park by a car that police say was stolen. Sgt. Marc Bell, a state police spokesman, says Tfc. Manuel Moreno was hit Friday while trying to stop the car. Moreno was treated and released at a hospital.
