Texas: Off-Duty Peace Officer Hit by Truck
A party in Southeast Travis County ended with a police officer being hit by a truck and security guards shooting at the driver. It happened around 2:13 a.m. Sunday at the Crown Event Center near Highway 183. Officials with the Travis County Sheriff's Office say as the party was ending, a driver in a black four-door pickup truck was driving erratically through the parking lot. A Mustang Ridge police officer, working off-duty with security at the center, tried to stop the driver on foot. He was instead hit by the truck.
